Thank you for visiting Superhero Sports Academy. We are an early years active start programme built on experience, qualifications and research. Our core values are family, community and quality early years experiences. We believe in learning through play to support a happy, healthy childhood. Helen Dewhurst
Founder and Programme Author
Helen is a mum of six and nannie of two and lives in Preston, Lancashire. Her children have all been involved in different sports at different stages of development and along with the thousands of children she has worked with in the community, are her inspiration for the programme.
Unable to find a holistic programme that equipped children with the fundamental skills required for early physical development she designed her own. All the Little Superhero programmes include essential personal, social and emotional elements that help children to feel regulated, empowered and ready to learn. Products are also available direct to schools, nurseries, preschools and gymnastics clubs.
A qualified primary teacher, independent early years physical development consultant, Level 2 British Gymnastics Coach and No. 1 Best Selling Author, Helen combined her experience and knowledge in the form of Little Superheroes! The active start health and wellbeing programmes focus on happy, healthy, hearts, minds and bodies and meet the needs of today's children. We aim to educate, empower and encourage children with a flying start in life. Strong foundations matter!
Rebecca Dewhurst
Creative Assistant
Rebecca is Helen's oldest daughter and mummy of two. She showed a creative flair from a very young age and was encouraged to become involved in developing the programme. Her input has allowed a child's perspective to be incorporated into the programme. She continues to develop new creative ideas for the programme along with new materials. She is the lead person in our own unique baby development training programme and supports all the training elements

Who better to test a programme for you! Children are honest and our programmes have been tried, tested, trialled and modified over an eight year period based on real experiences by real children. We know what works for young children. We are a family programme and family is at the heart of everything we do. We became a registered trademark in April 2018

Andy is married to Helen, Dad of six and Grandad of two. Alongside his own property business he supports the programme operations, merchandising and quality assurance systems.
