Who we are?
Thank you for visiting us. We are an active start programme built on experience. Our core values are family, community and quality early years experiences. We believe in learning through play to support a happy, healthy, heart, mind and body
Helen Dewhurst
Founder and Programme Author
Helen is a mum of six and nannie of one. Her children are all involved in different sports at different stages of development up to and including national level and are her inspiration for the programme.
Unable to find a holistic programme that equipped children with the fundamental skills required for sport that included the most important personal, social and emotional elements required for a strong foundation she designed her own.
It has proved extremely popular. A qualified teacher, independent early years consultant, Level 2 British Gymnastics Coach and No. 1 Best Selling Author, she combined her experience and knowledge in the form of Little Superheroes! The active start programme focuses on happy, healthy hearts, minds and bodies and meets the needs of today's children.
By building a strong foundation in the early years the programme empowers children with skills for life.
Rebecca Dewhurst
Creative Assistant
Rebecca is Helen's oldest daughter and mummy of one. She showed a creative flair from a very young age and was encouraged to become involved in developing the programme. Her input has allowed a child's perspective to be incorporated into the programme. She continues to develop new creative ideas for the programme along with new materials. She is the lead person in our own unique baby development programme and supports all the training elements.

Andy is married to Helen, Dad of six and Grandad of one. Alongside his own property business he supports the programme operations merchandising and quality assurance systems.

At Superhero Sports Academy we strive to keep all little ones safe and that's our top priority, as well as having fun of course! However in settings and in classes. parents. carers and setting staff remain responsible for their own children and their behaviour. We ask that the children do not run around or move around groups whilst eating due to health and safety. We also ask that no food containing peanuts are ever brought into a group due to allergies.
If your child does have an accident during a session then please inform the group leader who will assist you and also provide a first aid kit and/or refer you to a first aider if necessary.
Photographs are permitted in class but permission must be sought from all adults attending the session before they can be taken. Photographs may only be taken for personal use and may not appear on social media. Full length videos are not permitted under any circumstances.
